About Libby
Hello there. I have a degree in communications and have taught writing, editing, publishing and strategy at a university and community level. I am a published and awarded short-story writer (very low-key to be honest) and have had work broadcast on national radio. For many years I have been studying education and involved in a range of education projects, in addition to my own teaching practice. Completed part one of an innovative new Masters programme in Person-Centred Education at Sussex University, and may even return one day.
For many years, I consulted in strategic communications and marketing, and business coaching – with an increasing emphasis on ethical, sustainable / environmental and social enterprise.
In essence, I am a fun, friendly, Australian mother with a passion for creative expression, business, education and human potential – including yours!

Well, hi there adoring audience… The pressure of being hilarious is of course overwhelming, but I’ll quietly cope. I’m hoping to churn out some genius comedy during this course hidden under layers of insecurity and the bitterness that only the young can truly affect (as the betrayal of our dreams is still imaginary and acts as a shield to stop us actually having to achieve anything). I’m 28 – does that still count? So I’ve been given a challenge for a new stand-up show. The last one was about Einstein. This one; well, perhaps I won’t tell you yet in case I have to change it to make my material fit… Anyway, looking forward to you all buying me a drink.

First class was great. Despite funerals, rampant viruses and generally vile weather, we had a good turn out. Eight eager writers (Ian, Mark, James, Katy, Akasati, Ben, Rebecca, Libby) huddled over the table at the lovely Werks and let it rip. Alix & Leah are planning to come along to the next session/s.
Nice mix of ages, gender etc. Looks like we will go ahead with the creative foundations and free writing as intended, plus allow for some tune-up sessions and specific exercises to help people with their practical / professional expression.
Thanks for coming along folks. A delight to write with you and hear your words. Well done indeed! Some cross-fertilisation of ideas, invitations between folk to share projects and generally good networking on top of the writing even.
Feel free to leave comments here and promote your own projects. Find out more about participants so far via links above. Some people will come for 1,3 or 6 sessions – some will be there every fortnight. As you prefer – the invitation is open. Prices above.
NOTE: you can check out some of Katy’s shows here. “dark, surreal, improvised, comedy.” We’re planning to be there sometime soon.

This class sounds great but unfortunately Tuesdays are an absolute no-no-no for me. If you get any people interested in other days then let me know!
